The support I have received from Michelle within the Tenancy Management department has been exceptional! She has assisted me with an application for a Personal Independance Payment (PIP) and supported me through my PIP Health Assessment. I am still awaiting the outcome of this claim, but I am confident the claim will succeed. Michelle also helped recover a backdate of Housing payments from Universal Credit and is working on getting me additional payments through Universal Credit due to my health. Her knowledge of the benefit regulations is impressive and I would recommend any tenant who may be struggling to manage their finances to contact the Tenancy department at Challenge House and ask to speak to Michelle Gilbourne.
I have been renting through Challenge for years now and to be frank I would not recommend them. I have a had lots of problems with the property ranging from a front door which has been classed as a fire hazard which I reported a repair about 2 years ago to be told that it was on system and would get to us when they could, I called about a month or so ago about said repair to be told it wasn't on the system. Other repair jobs that include a leaky roof which then made the kitchen ceiling fall in, was left for days with a gale blowing through my house and was totally brushed off when I mentioned about compensating my heating due to them not getting the job done in a timely fashion. I have guttering that's too short so it was bodged up with lead so water soaks into the backroom wall and wallpaper has came off the wall itself due to how moist the wall has become to add further insult now there are some form of spore growing on that wall. The attic bedroom window is the old style (Not flat window) which everytime it rains the water seaps through the window frames still not repaired. We had a boiler totally fail and die on us and it took about 2 days for that to be repaired we have young children so this was not something that could have been left longer. Kitchen units are old and damp has set in (from the water sodden walls) to the wood so that will be the next thing to go.If you are looking for a tenancy I would advise against going with Challenge house.My mind could be changed if repairs were more of a priority and houses were looked after better but until then my opinion will not change.
