From the moment we arrived to the moment we left we loved our stay ...warden was lovely. .extremely helpful. ..toilet block was lovely clean and warm ...although the push button shower could do with being longer between pushes ...I had no sooner pushed it for the shower to flow than it had stopped ..didn't even get my hands to my head to lather my shampoo ..so that's our only criticism ...dog walking is good ...just down the hill on the right is a great walk along the river maun. ...I imagine in the summer it would get very busy with tents ..would definitely recommend this site and will be back ....
For a couple without kids. We were parked next to the play area. Kids running about squealing, n on bikes. They nearly took caravan door off when it was opened. Kids riding knbrtween car & caravans. I wasn't happy about this. Not good. Hated the pitch. Park would have been nice if we were at a different pitch.
Facilities ok and proximity to things to do great, but site seems to have a dump of some sort actually inside it, with truck after truck coming through the campsite to unload and a digger in frequent daytime operation. There is no fence or barrier, preventing children from roaming on to this area. Seemed potentially very dangerous. Contrary to the pictures this makes for a pretty awful view and a persistent concern around the safety of your children with absolutely no advanced information to set expectations. It wouldn't seem too difficult to at least tape off the area, or put up a temporary fence. That said the shower block was spotless and relatively new, although a bit short on showers. Water pressure was excellent. The kids play area seemed to keep them occupied for hours and there's an Asda superstore right round the corner for anything you've forgotten. No shop on site though. Ice cream van swings by o nice or twice a day.We spent a day at Hardwick Hall and a day at Clumber Park which are both great and in easy reach. We also did the Go Ape at Sherwood Forest which is 10 minutes away at most... so despite issues with the site, it's pretty well located.
Very clean site. Plenty of room. We had three plots next to each. We were very spread out. A 10 min walk away to an ASDA/COSTA/ KFT. But the site felt like it was in the middle of the countryside. Great few days away.
Spent a couple of nights here, nice camp site, friendly welcome and well laid out, Asda, KFC and a pub 5- 10 min walk away. What let this place down was the men's toilets facilities, 2 urinals, 2 toilets and one shower which you had to be quick, 5 sec burst when button had been pressed.Clean, tidy and ideal for a couple of nights.
