I have moved to this surgery from meden medical practice, and can honestly say that I have never had so many problem trying to get an apppintment. Had a letter saying that the doctor wanted to see me, that was in July, due to working shifts still not been seen. I am going to transfer to orchard medical practice. I know for a fact they are a lot better.
Ive been registered at Oakwood for 9 years. The doctors and nurses Ive seen have mostly been pleasant, professional and helpful (only one I had a problem with left a while ago). Calling at 8.30 for appointment is annoying and its hard to get through, but you can sign up to book your appointments online, which I havent looked into but might help shift workers.
Receptionist do not care if you work shifts still expect you to ring up when you have been on nights at 8.30 not good enough. Should be able to book appointment night before.
They are rubbish you can never get appointments even when they send you a letter to make one. Even though you are very worried about your health there is no one to talk to. i would not give them any stars. Time to move practises.
I was diagnosed type 1 diabetes 3 months ago. The support and response from Oakwood surgery is so bad that my prescription still isnt correct even today. My doctor had no idea what my insulin pen was and receptionists have been very rude every time Ive called. I know they are busy but there is no need to make me feel as though they havent got time to fix my issues. I have found myself having to speak to a therapist with stress and anxiety caused my the whole facade. If highly recommend you find a different GP service is possible.
